Gus von Goslar is a spectacular looking 1-2 year old long haired German Shepherd. One would imagine his size would make him hard to handle, but he is a total sweetheart. The staff at the animal shelter gave him the name "Snuffleupagus", a Muppet. At first we thought that was so ridiculous, but then we started to appreciate the similarities. He is large and has a beautiful rust colored coat. Gus might be a big boy, but he is kind and gentle. Some of you may remember that he was Big Bird’s best friend. Maybe he could be your best friend? Although we now love the name "Snuffleupagus", we did shorten it to Gus. Our gentle guy did well meeting a cat and a small dog at the cat rescue next door. He was much more interested in other smells, maybe a morsel to eat? He is easy to walk and strolls right by your side. Gus likes the more gentle dogs, like himself, in the playgroup. He is a great car buddy and sat happily next to our volunteer on his way to us from the animal shelter. He definitely needs a better home than he had before. It took our groomers 3 hours to get through his mats to look as amazing as he does on his pictures. Whoever had him before didn’t deserve him. Come meet this hunk and fall in love!
